
It is observed as a Nationwide effort to promote Financial Education to help people manage money better and plan for the future. Some ways to accomplish that are:
1. Create a household or personal budget that you can stick to.
2. Be aware of your credit score. Use credit wisely to stay out of debt.
3. Set financial goals depending on your age. These may include saving for a home or planning for retirement.
4. Set up investment accounts for the future. If your employer has a plan that you can take part in, that is always a good option. If not, start an IRA on your own.
5. Have an emergency savings for unexpected occurances.
6. Set up accounts for children to have access to for college or higher education. There are mutual funds you can start with small amounts of money and add to them or 529 accounts that are for education.
Even if you have some basic knowledge of money, you can always continue to learn. There are books, online courses, and often communities offer in person learning opportunities with a financial professional. Some are geared to adults with families and others toward retirement planning or your senior years. Having confidence in your financial decisions not only helps you manage your finances through your lifetime but also minimize money related stress.
