Financial and Personal Milestones

For my last blog of 2024, I want to look back at financial and personal milestones this year.

Financial Milestones are goals you have set for yourself or your business. It is always good to have them written down and, in a spot, you can easily look at.

Back when I first started in business, I got into the habit of writing them down and frequently looking at my progress. I looked on a quarterly basis to see where I was, and I still do that today.

Some popular goals you hear about are starting an emergency fund, paying off home or credit card debt, saving for retirement, and increasing current income.

While these are important, as you get older, make sure you include: staying active, volunteering at an organization, travel, and really taking time for things that maybe you could not always do in your working and raising a family era.

December is a good time to take a snapshot of your financial and personal picture. Celebrate your accomplishments. At the same time, you may not have achieved all of your goals and that is okay. In planning for the new year, you may find that some of the goals need to be written down again, but others do not apply anymore, and you have the opportunity to make some new goals.

The important steps in life’s journey are to know your goals, celebrate your success and put a little more effort into the ones that you are finding hard to succeed in.

I hope some of my tidbits and common-sense information that I have shared this year have been helpful and I look forward to finding some new topics and sharing more finance tips in 2025.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
